I was wondering what type of retainers are the best ones to get. My friend has the plastic ones with the wire in front, but I like the clear invisible retainers.

It depends on how your teeth were to start. Talk to your orthodontist if you want a particular type of retainer. Most orthodontists will be able to work with you if you really want a particular type of retainer.
